Visually Impaired

Assistance Dogs are welcome in the auditorium. They must remain with and be the sole responsibility of the owner at all times. Please ensure you inform the Box Office if you attend on bringing your assistance dog with you. This will allow them to allocate the most appropriate seating for you.

Audio Description is description and commentary of action provided via the Sennheiser headsets*. This service is for our visually impaired patrons. The commentary is live and does not happen when the cast are speaking – only in between dialogue. 15 minutes before the performance starts the describer commences an introduction that covers cast descriptions, character relationships and details about costumes and set. *We also provide Sennheiser necklaces for those patrons who are users of hearing aids. Our system is compatible with most aids.

Alongside an Audio Described performance we will offer a Touch Tour. This is a guided tour led by our audio describer that will allow you to see and experience the stage and set up close, exploring and touching set pieces, props and costumes. Touch Tours are on average one hour before the performance and a free service for our visually impaired patrons. However please do book your place in advance as places are limited for health and safety reasons. If you have any mobility issues, please let us know in advance as the accessibility of stage varies by performance.
