COVID-19 INFORMATION

Ensuring your safe visit to the Grand

When You Book

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic your booking experience may look a little bit different. To ensure everyone’s safety and to comply with the Government’s Covid-19 guidelines when you book a ticket you will be booking for a specific price band rather than a specific seat.

This will allow your Box Office team to allocate seats according to the necessary social distancing whilst ensuring household groups, of no more than six people, can sit together. Your tickets will be sent via email, 48 hours prior to your performance start time with your allocated seats and also a staggered arrival time.

By booking tickets to any performance at the Grand Theatre you are agreeing to the below additional terms and conditions.

  • Should you or any of your household have Covid-19 symptoms you will not attend the theatre and contact us at feedback@grandtheatre.co.uk
  • You agree to all ticket holders having their temperature checked on arrival at the theatre. If any member of the party fails three checks you will be asked to leave and money refunded.
  • Follow social distancing markers around the building.
  • You agree to all ticket holders wearing a face covering at all times whilst in the theatre, (exemptions apply as listed in Government guidelines).

If you require a wheelchair position, please contact anthonyw@grandtheatre.co.uk or shannonw@grandtheatre.co.uk, who will contact you in turn to arrange your booking (Monday – Friday, 10am – 4pm).

If you have a disability or impairment that means you require specific seating please continue to book your ticket online and then email your requirements to anthonyw@grandtheatre.co.uk or shannonw@grandtheatre.co.uk who will do their best to accommodate your needs.

When You Visit

We have also implemented some additional measures to keep you safe while you are in the theatre.

  • You will receive an arrival time when your seats are allocated. Please ensure you arrive at the correct time as this will help us get everyone in smoothly and reduce queues
  • All audience members will have their temperature checked with a contactless infrared thermometer before entering the building
  • Face coverings must be worn at all times when inside the theatre (exemptions apply as listed in Government guidelines)
  • Please check in to the theatre using the NHS Test and Trace App. Please scan in on arrival.
  • We have hand sanitising stations around the theatre which we encourage you to use
  • We are now operating a one-way system in and out of the auditorium. There are floor markings to guide you around and our staff will be on hand to assist you
  • Please have your tickets ready. Our staff are now equipped with ticket scanners and will scan your tickets before you enter the auditorium
  • We have increased our cleaning routine, so when you arrive at your seat it will have been disinfected between each performance. All door handles and handrails will be continually disinfected before, during and after your visit
  • We will be staggering your departure from the theatre to ensure people aren’t gathered in large queues, so we appreciate your cooperation with this

FAQ's

Will I have to wear my mask while watching the show?

Yes, in accordance with the latest Government guidelines, a face covering must be worn at all times when in the theatre. You may remove this to eat, drink, take medication etc, but must put your mask back on afterwards.

Children under the age of 11 are not required to wear a face covering and other exemptions as listed on the Government website apply.

What if I don’t want my temperature checking when I arrive?

As part of our risk assessment and ability to open the theatre we are required to ensure that everyone entering the building are not displaying symptoms of COVID-19. Therefore, temperature checks are essential and audience members will not be allowed to enter the building without one.

Will I be able to leave my coat in the cloakroom?

We’re afraid our cloakroom service will not be operational while the current restrictions are in place.

Can I get a drink at the bar?

Unfortunately, our bars will be closed during the current restrictions. However, we now have an exciting new App that you can order refreshments from before you arrive from our reduced menu.

Your order will be waiting for you in a bag at your seat.

You can order as soon as you receive your ticket, confirming your seat numbers. Please note, orders will close 24 hours prior to your performance start time.

You can download the app by searching for WGT Click & Collect in App Store or Google Play, or by clicking the relevant button below:

Can I wait in the foyer after the show for my lift home?

We’d love to be able to accommodate you, but due to the increased cleaning schedule between performances and the staggered arrival of the next audience, we cannot have anyone waiting in the foyer

Are you still conducting bag searches?

Yes, however, to ensure your safety and the safety of our staff we are not asking our security team to touch anything in your bag. A visual check will be carried out.

Can I use the lift?

Our lift is in operation, however, due to current restrictions we can only allow one support bubble in at a time. If you can use the stairs we ask that you do so to alleviate the pressure on our lift and to avoid those who are unable to use the stairs having to queue.

Will booster seats be available?

Yes, we will place booster seats inside the auditorium to collect as you enter. There will be no charge for their use and each seat will be cleaned in between performances.
