HOW TO GET HERE
The Grand Theatre is situated on Lichfield Street in the north east part of Wolverhampton City Centre. We are within easy walking distance of the bus, metro and newly refurbished train stations with a wide selection of shops, restaurants, pubs and wine bars in the immediate vicinity. The Wolverhampton Civic Hall, Light House Media Centre and award-winning Art Gallery & Museum are also close by.
By Public Transport
The theatre is a three minute walk from Wolverhampton Rail Station and three minutes from Wolverhampton St Georges Metro Station. The main bus station is a minute away. bus route information can be found here.
By Bike
West Midlands Cycle Hire scheme have bicycle docks at the bus station, where you are able to hire or dock a bike for your journey.
By Car
Wolverhampton Grand Theatre is situated on Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1DE
If you’re visiting us from outside the city, the following route information may be helpful:
M6 J10, follow A454 to Wolverhampton
M54 J2, follow A449 to Wolverhampton
M5 J2, follow A4123 to Wolverhampton
As you near the city, road side signs will guide you towards the Theatre. Please note, these signs will guide you directly to the Theatre, where you will only be able to to pick up and drop off.
We recommend that you park and walk where possible, and that you follow directions to your chosen Car Park. Convenient car parks are listed below:
Parking
For drop off and pick up at the Theatre please follow road side signs. Please note that some roads may have vehicle restriction or be one way. Please pay close attention to signage when approaching the theatre.
Please note that the bay beyond the theatre in Lichfield Street is for drop off/pick-up only.
Wolverhampton Train Station (Corn Hill, WV1 1LE)
Parking at Wolverhampton Train Station is £3 after 5pm.
City of Wolverhampton Council Car Parks
Broad Street
- £2 after 5pm pay on arrival or exit
- Before 5pm pay on exit only
Fold Street
- Pay on arrival or pay on exit any time
- £3.50 between 5am–5pm
- £2 between 5pm–5am
Civic Centre & St Peter’s
- Pay on exit only
A number of City of Wolverhampton Council’s city centre car parks now operate an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system. To help keep traffic moving and reduce queues when exiting these car parks:
- Where available, pay on arrival
- Alternatively, pay at the exit barrier to reduce queues at pay machines
- If issued a ticket when entering you MUST scan the ticket at the exit barrier to leave (whether paying at the machine or barrier)
- Any issues, press the intercom (telephone icon) on the exit barrier for assistance
At car parks operating the ANPR system, the following payment methods are accepted at pay stations and exit barriers:

Parking Charges at a glance
- All city centre car parks: £2 between 5pm–5am (excluding Civic Centre and St Peter’s car parks)
- St George’s and Fold Street: £3.50 all‑day parking between 5am–5pm (12 hours from arrival)
Other council‑operated city centre car parks accept payment via the RingGo app or cash.
