THE BROWN SUITE is set in 1970s New York, scored by a soundtrack of soul and funk spanning the 1960s and 70s. It follows six lives drawn out of their separate rooms — from apartment windows to the street below — and pulled toward one shared night, until the doors of THE BROWN SUITE open and those lives collide fully in love, loyalty, and rivalry, under one roof and one groove.
But a single moment of heartbreak sends one man out into the city alone, forced to face down everything he’s lost. As the night stretches on, the community he left behind finds its way back to the floor — until he’s the only one still missing. What began as a celebration and unravelled into rupture ends as something quieter and harder-won: a community choosing each other again.
THE BROWN SUITE is performed by a cast of seven.
