Work experience at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre

Wonder what really happens behind the scenes?

Spend a week with us and get a hands-on look at the busy world behind the curtain.

You’ll meet the team, explore different departments, and see how the theatre stays lively, even on days without a show.

During the week you’ll rotate through several areas including:

  • Community & Creative Engagement – Find out how the theatre works with local groups and creates exciting projects.
  • Marketing – See how social media campaigns are created to promote upcoming shows.
  • Front of House – Experience the welcoming atmosphere that greets audiences when they visit.
  • Visitor experience – Learn how tickets are sold and how customer enquiries are handled.
  • Access – Discover how the theatre makes performances inclusive for everyone
  • And much more!

Unlike being on stage, this placement focuses on the people and processes working behind the scenes, giving you a real taste of what theatre careers look like in action.
